It's not super wide like most cheap ones from the store. I love that it is expandable for when I have more dishes or bigger pans to wash. Drains pretty well and is SUPER sturdy. We recently had a few parties and my glass fiesta ware serving trays were used. The dish rack was able to accommodate both easily with zero tipping over! I wish I had bought this year's ago! Small enough that we leave it on the kitchen counter in our small apartment kitchen. It's about the same size as my drying dish matt that we used to use because I hated how unsturdy and small the basic dish racks are.
