Assembled top half, mounted to ceiling and adjusted chains for height. I've installed these before, the bottom half can easily go on last to eliminate having to lift the entire weight of the unit while assembling. When I finally had everything perfect, I proceeded to install the bottom frame. No go! The entire thing was twisted. I then flipped the frame in the opposite direction, hoping that whoever fabricated the unit did it in such a way that it needs to be installed the same way. No go! I then took down the frame measured - the holes on one side are drilled at 12", the other side is drilled at 11.25". HOW IN THE WORLD DOES A PRODUCTION LINE SCREW THIS UP? Thank you, so so much for wasting over an hour of my time lining this thing up only to have to take it back down again and return it. We also admired the pot rack from a distance, with one side of the bottom disconnected so it would hang straight. MEH! Look, do your home a solid and get a quality fixture, this one looks kind of okay but on the cheap side. I'm sure people hang pots on it and that fits the requirements but we're going to get something better, or I'm going to make the thing myself.Very picky about bulbs. Even LED bulbsReal looker. this is a great accent piece to your kitchen with great practical value. for a normal height modern ceiling i had to remove all but 5 links of chain to make it the appropriate height above my island. aprox 40 inches above standard counter height island. i installed a new light electrical box and reinforced between rafters with 3 2x4's, both sides and on top. worked out well to secure fixture with 4 screws through the fixtures support through the top of the elec box as instructed in the direction. having those screws bury into braced wood makes for a secure feeling. i have confidence that my install can handle more weight than you can hang on the fixture by size. i would like to see a pull chain switch option for this item.now as stated in other reviews care must be taken when planning the positioning of items on the rack. due to the inherent weakness of a two chain design it will definitely become un-level easily if you put too much weight on any point. in planning i placed my heaviest pieces first balancing the rack as i went. although i was verry attentive to balance and tried multiple placements there is no way i could get it to be perfectly level to the eye. i did not use a level as that would certainly never happen but i do not believe anyone has noticed the lack of perfect level as i have.two led 60 watts light up my island very well.by the way, bent chain links work well to hang small things from the rack like measuring cup sets and measuring spoon sets etc if you want to do that.also remove from packaging out side of your home near a garbage can because the foam packing deteriorated and it looked like it snowed in my house and i think i will be finding little pieces of foam for the rest of my life.4 stars because nothing is perfect but i am very happy with my purchase. the value price and quality and looks of the final product were top notch. unless people have shopped for pot racks on amazon they will never know you did not pay several hundred dollars (or more) for this piece at a local kitchen or building material store.i highly recommend itProduct seems to be well built, very direct light, very difficult to install alone, recommend 2 people. You will need to replace the ceiling outlet box to supportFit the wife's kitchen upgrade project. Use good judgement and hit studs when you hang it. Had to adjust the height by removing a few links but the give you plenty to work with. Two words describe our feelings about this purchase... LOVE IT!!!We saw the identical item in a local home improvement center several months ago and did not buy it because the kitchen wasn't wired to accommodate it at that time. After having an appropriate junction box installed we went to buy it and found it now had to be special ordered at twice the price we orignally saw it for. After checking other stores, online, we found it for a better price but would have had to wait nearly a month to get it. So of course we checked Amazon, found it for a great price and Prime eligible. So 'one-click' later it was on it's way. When it arrived I was originally nervous when I saw it was made in China. I had concerns about the quality. However, upon opening the box I was immediately impressed with how sturdy it was and how well made it appeared to be.There is a moderate amount of assembly required and (unfortunately) there were no instructions in the box. However, as it turned out...I didnt need them. It was super easy to assemble and in fact, I literally had it wired in, fully assembled and had two of my wife's favorite Calphalon pans hanging from it within 30 minutes of taking it out of the box!One caveat...if you aren't comfortable wiring in ceiling mount lighting you'll want to have somebody do it for you. Because you will have to strip the wires and adjust the length of the wiring to accommodate the height you want it at. That will require cutting the wires and adjustning the length of the chains.Otherwise, anybody with even a minimal amount of experience with wiring in lights can do this in a snap.It looks fabulous above our island and it totally transforms our food prep area.As I said at the beginning of this review...we absolutely love it!Was so easy to assemble and installation was a breeze. Very happy with product.I love my pot rack it looks great. We hired an electrician to install it due to the included light fixtures. The enclosed anchor screws were not sufficient to hold the piece but the installer had others he used. Our ceilings are average height probably 8 ft or so. Due to the way the chain hangs even hiking them up as far as he could would have made the rack hang too low over our island. He ended up wrapping the chains around the bar at the top to lift it higher. I also purchased smaller hooks which raised the pots a bit as well. I was not able to hang some of my larger pans but I did add some utensils to fill in the voids.I love the look and design in my new kitchen. However the one that it replaced was stable on the ceiling so I could put pots and utensils anywhere on it without tipping the balance. This one has nice bright lights over the island and is great for brightening my cooking and baking visibility. That is why I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. It needs a way to be more stable & to be less fiddly. Getting it to balance takes up a lot of time or it looks all wonky. It has more links on the chain if you have higher ceilings as well. It is very sturdy. I bought it two years ago but only now put pots on it as I cannot find the hooks that came with it so I ordered more from another Amazon seller, I am sure I'll find them now since I bought replacements LOLGot it cheap. Finish it good but fit is meh.A few peices are not asymmetrical. The chain is massive, >5ft each side. Also the electrical box cover plate needed to be shimmed as it didnt fit hard against the support bar.Sways a lot. I ended up hanging directly by the eyelets and a lot of bracing ti keep it near stillI love it perfect. Buy 60W equivalent LED bulbs from Walmart.Medium difficulty install. You’ll need to be able to put support backing behind the electrical box in the ceiling to support the weight.
