We are thoroughly enjoying our kitchen island. It is very handy. It the shelving is very spacious and useful. The drawer are bigger than you'd think. It rolls smoothly around the room as needed.All of this comes with a little catch. The drawers suffer from a manufacturing error. The predrilled holes for the metal dowels are not aligned correctly with the drawer face, so the drawer bottom does not slide into place on the face. The milled dowel holes cause the he drawer face to sit below the drawer bottom dado (cut out where the bottom slides in to fit inside the four sides).We though that this was a one-off, so we called the company for drawer replacements. They happily sent an entire island replacement. To our surprise, the drawer milling error was repeated on the second one. So...I lined up the sides and the drawer faces and marked where the dowel holes needed to be. Using a 3/16 drill bit and a hand drill press, I was able to drill the additional holes to align the drawer face. Not everyone can do this, but if you can, you will have a spacious and functional kitchen island.I hope the manufacturer does a quality control check so that this problem can be changed as they produce their inventory.
