It's quality aluminum extrusion. I was surprised at the quality of the aluminum based on price and the rack is very sturdy. One of the legs was missing a pre-drilled hole but easy enough to drill. All the hardware is ferrous so I replaced with stainless from another vendor for a corrosion free install. I spent another ~$83 on stainless hardware and still lower price than anything else I could find. I have a 2005 Ford Ranger and did modify the aluminum mounting bases to work around the stake pockets. Again, easy enough to drill. Highly recommend.
